Description
This all day brunch spot feels like a casual diner, but the menu is packed with creative twists on breakfast favorites - blending Hawaiian, Japanese, American, and Portuguese flavors. They’re known for dishes like Cornflake French Toast, Breakfast Bibimbap, and Kimchi Bacon Scones. The menu mostly stays the same (because people get mad when they remove popular dishes) with the exception of specials that pop up based on what’s in season.

Koko Head Cafe is a favorite for locals and tourists alike - partly because of the creative brunch options and cocktails, partly because of their celebrity owner and chef Lee Anne from Top Chef fame. But with that popularity comes lines so plan to wait a bit before you get a table, no matter what time you go.

Legit brunch, served all day. Celebrity Chef Lee Anne puts a twist on traditional breakfast fare. A mix of Hawaiian, Japanese, American, and Portuguese. Great cocktails too.

TIPS + TRICKS
-
There will be lines, rain or shine. Expect to wait at least 30 minutes (but it’s worth it).

-
Come early or close to close to avoid a long wait.

-
The wait is shorter on weekdays than on weekends.

-
They’re open until 2:30 if you want to swing by for lunch.

-
They always have a huge list of specials. For example, the Kitchen Sink Salad changes every day based on what’s in season. Even the frittata changes depending on which fresh vegetables they were able to source that morning.
DID YOU KNOW?

Celebrity Chef Lee Anne Wong worked at the French Laundry and starred in Top Chef Season 1 (where she made it to #4 in the competition). Bravo then brought her on as a Supervising Culinary Producer on Top Chef (Seasons 2-7) and Top Chef Masters (Season 1). She battled and won Food Network’s Halloween episode of Iron Chef America in 2011. Her culinary and TV resume are too long to cover all of it here. She’s cooked in kitchens all over the world.

Lee Anne moved from New York City to Honolulu in 2013 and opened Koko Head Cafe in 2014.
